We are an acoustic duo that specializes in delivering unique and soulful renditions of songs from multiple genres and decades, played as intimate piano and guitar duets. Our music features emotive vocal harmonies, evocative arrangements, and heartfelt performances that showcase our deep passion for music. Our name, Apart Inside, was inspired by the lyrics of Poison’s ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn,’ a song we often play as a piano and guitar duet. The name represents the feeling of being torn apart on the inside, a common theme in the music we love to play. We’re drawn to music that expresses heartache, loss, and other intense emotions that resonate with people on a deep level, regardless of the genre or era. To us, music has the power to heal and uplift, even when it’s at its most raw and vulnerable, and we hope to bring that kind of emotional connection to our audiences.
Meet Bradley
Bradley Frost: Lead Guitar, Vocals
Though he has more than 30 years of finger-picking a 5-string Bass, the acoustic guitar has always been Brad’s go-to instrument. His profound love for arpeggios and pulsating melodies influences his crafty vocal patterns woven into melodic sustaining frequencies. Bradley is originally from Saginaw, Michigan.
Meet Melanie
Melanie Lashus: Piano, Rhythm Guitar, Vocals
Melanie has been playing piano since she was a little kid, but just taught herself guitar a few years ago. She is thrilled to be singing and playing both instruments as a member of Apart Inside. Originally from rural North Carolina, Melanie is a country farm girl at heart. She’s maintained her profound love for sad country songs, two-step dancing, and cowboy boots.
